The cameras were mounted in a Ford GT40, in that scene the GT40 was attached to a Ferrari 158, the result was a very realistic and beautiful frames.

Grand Prix is probably the most authentic film about motorsport, alongside Le Mans. Proof of this, is that in order to select the few 6 photos that you see in this photoset, I took 45 amazing stillshots of the movie, and it was really hard to narrow them down to these six.
Part of this authenticity lies on fact that a big part of the footage is taken from the actual Monaco/Spa races of the season, and all the race specific bits were filmed the day before the actual races.
You probably will never see such fine real footage and gorgeous camera angles such as the ones Frankenheimer was so keen on depicting in Grand Prix again. Plus, most of the footage was captured by a GT40 camera car which was driven by the great Phill Hill.
And, if you like Françoise Hardy, you’ll fall in love with her plenty of times during the entire movie. I did. A lot. For real, like, a whole lotta love.

Grand Prix Holland 1951
This was the fourth time a Grand Prix was held at Zandvoort. The drawing by Jan Apets seems to depict Prince Bira in his Masarati of previous years. Very collectible, very rare!
